Crantock - Probably the best location in Cornwall.
Situated between Newquay and Perranporth; a small and peaceful picturesque Cornish village yet close to all the holiday action. Nestled at the end of the West Pentire peninsula and surrounded by three popular Cornish beaches and the beautiful Gannel Estuary, Crantock is a world away from the hustle-bustle of the rat race.

Crantock's ancient Cornish church stands above the winding country lanes to the beaches and river below. Hidden away in the heart of the village is the Albion Inn, a 17th Century public house with masses of character that is open all year round serving traditional country fayre and a good range of local fish and Cornish produce. Crantock Village has a real old feel to it and has played a major part in Cornwall's past. One of only two original Cornish Colleges was housed at Crantock and represented an important centre of information and knowledge that stretched back into Cornwall's distant Celtic heritage. Although ransacked and looted during the Cornish uprising Crantock still retains a unique atmosphere that reflects it's rich and vibrant legacy.

It's never more than a short five minute walk from Berwyn guesthouse to the local beaches. To the North there is the main Crantock Beach where the Gannel River meets the ocean, an ideal beach for families and surfers alike. A local horse riding club is open to the public and run treks along the Gannel Estuary and surrounding area.

To the south of the village is Porth Joke beach, known locally as Polly Joke, a more secluded location away from the crowds even in the height of summer. Across the next headland is Holywell Bay one of the few 'sand dune' beaches in Cornwall. A massive beach with dunes rising up to 100 feet.
